Microsoft Dynamics™ AX – Apparel & Textile Launched in the UK

Published 16th May 2008

UK textile and apparel companies convened in Reading earlier this month for the launch of Microsoft Dynamics™ AX – Apparel & Textile. Specifically designed for companies that manufacture or distribute clothing and textile based products, this innovative business application has already been successfully implemented by companies throughout Europe. Hosted by Syscom PLC, the event was held at Microsoft® UK, Reading and was attended by well known brands from across the textile and apparel sectors.

With over 30 years experience and a customer base that includes leading apparel and textile companies, Microsoft Gold Partner Syscom feel confident that the launch of Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile into the UK market place offers something unique to organisations within the textile and apparel sectors. “Global competition and the increasing complexity of dispersed supply networks makes it more important than ever for apparel and textile businesses to have the correct systems in place,” says Sally Reynolds, Marketing Manager of Syscom PLC. “Many organisations are still struggling with information systems that aren’t able to provide the visibility, flexibility and support needed for profitable operating and securing a competitive advantage. As Microsoft’s industry solution for the apparel and textile sectors, Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile provides companies with a familiar interface and specific industry functionality.” Available in the Microsoft pricelist, Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile is distributed through accredited partners like Syscom, the exclusive UK partner for this product.

Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile is designed to manage complex inventory and distribution variables with multi-dimensional item coding that facilitates the tracking of raw fibres through to finished goods – and back. Specifically developed to give apparel and textile companies a comprehensive insight into business efficiency and costs, Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile enables informed decision making as well as allowing for the process flexibility needed to respond effectively to changing conditions. Alongside industry-specific functionality, the software offers tight integration with other Microsoft products and an intuitive, familiar interface. “Streamlining your business needn’t be a trial,” says Sally. “The key is choosing a business system that works with your existing systems and practices so that you can maximise your IT investment. At last there is a Microsoft application specifically developed for the textile and apparel market place.”

Delegates attending the launch were able to preview this latest Microsoft Dynamics™ software and heard first-hand about the benefits of this software from rapidly expanding supplier of leisure clothing, Cheltenham based Weird Fish. “Many found it refreshing to see a system with transaction-driven item coding, which allows for a wide range of item identifiers including style, colour, size and finishing variables,” says Sally. “We found people were particularly excited about the UK availability of a Microsoft offering with functionality specially designed for the unique requirements of their industry.”

As a follow-up to the event, Syscom will be holding an online demonstration on Thursday 5th June. “This is the perfect opportunity for those who were unable to attend the event to discover how Microsoft Dynamics AX – Apparel & Textile can make their business more profitable, competitive and efficient,” says Sally. “The webinar will let those logged on experience the look and feel of the software, as well as allowing them to ask a qualified Microsoft consultant any questions they may have. All you need is an internet connection and a phone.”
